Wiltshire Poultry Barn
Wiltshire, UK
Project Overview
Poultry units have highly intense, constant daytime energy loads due to specialized mechanical ventilation, automated feeding systems, and temperature controls. This Wiltshire-based unit was facing extreme pressure from high energy prices, making solar self-consumption a critical operational priority.
We engineered a custom 63 kWp solar array across the long corrugated roofs of the poultry houses. The system generates power directly when ventilation loads are highest during warm, sunny daylight hours, creating a perfect match between power generation and energy demand.
The installation has drastically lowered peak demand charges and secured energy price stability, ensuring the ongoing viability of the farm's intensive rearing operations.
